The Czech Military Marche commemorates the end of World War II in Europe and the liberation of Czechoslovakia from Nazi occupation. Victory in Europe came at an extraordinary cost, with millions sacrificing their lives so future generations could live in freedom. The march serves as a reminder that peace was not simply given—it was earned through courage, sacrifice, and the determination of those who refused to surrender to tyranny.

The ruck medal awarded to participants reflects that history. Its design honors the Allied effort that brought an end to the war in Europe while recognizing the resilience of the Czech and Slovak people throughout years of occupation. It also remembers the soldiers who fought alongside the Allied nations to reclaim their homeland and restore liberty.

For ruckers, this march is about far more than earning a medal. It is an opportunity to remember one of history's greatest struggles, honor those who secured freedom at an unimaginable cost, and reflect on our responsibility to preserve the peace they fought so hard to achieve.

The Medal

Obverse (front):
The central motif is a five-pointed star, recalling the white and red insignia used on U.S. and Soviet military equipment during the liberation. At the center sits a two-tailed lion on a shield, crossed by a downward-pointing sword—symbolizing Czechoslovakia’s prepared but unrealized defense during the Munich betrayal. The shield is surrounded by rising linden leaves, representing the strength and unity of the nation in its darkest days.

Reverse (back):
The design shows two concentric circles divided into four quadrants, symbolizing the post-war division of enemy territory among the four Allied powers. Within each section, linden leaves represent Czechoslovak soldiers who served in those armies. At the center is the victorious year, “1945.”

Ribbon:
The ribbon is 38 mm wide and carries three colors:

  • Blue for hope that such conflict will never return.
  • Red for the blood sacrificed by victims of the war.
  • White for peace.

Refunds are not possible once your roster has been submitted to the Czech Government.

How It Works — The Mission-to-Medal Method

  1. Choose Your Mission. Register right here on our site — checkout is secure.
  2. Ruck to the Standard. Complete the distance and weight in one continuous ruck during the event window, anywhere in the world.
  3. Submit Your Evidence. Send a tracking screenshot (date, time, route, distance) and a photo of you on the ruck.
  4. We Verify. We review your evidence and confirm completion with the issuing organization.
  5. Earn It. Your medal or badge, ribbon, and certificate ship to the address on your registration.

When will my award arrive? Medals take 10–12 weeks from the close of registration — covering confirmation, pickup, and shipping. We print labels before ship day so you can review your address; tracking goes live when your packet ships.

  • Who Can Participate

If you're active duty, Reserve, Guard, a veteran, or a civilian looking to challenge yourself and earn a recognized foreign award, our rucks are for you. We also welcome our international military partners who want to join the challenge.

Each event is designed so you can complete it anywhere in the world, at your convenience, during the event window. You can participate as a group or go solo, either way, the experience is built for your success!

  • Refund Policy

Ruck registrations are refundable for 24 hours after registration closes. After this window, registrations become final and non-refundable because we begin the required process of submitting participant information to the Czech or Austrian Military Associations for production scheduling.

Once your name is submitted for production and verification, these organizations do not offer refunds, and neither can we.

  • When Will My Award Ship

All Czech and Austrian awards are handmade and verified overseas. Once the event window closes and your ruck submission is confirmed, your medal set enters production with the appropriate foreign military association. We pick up completed awards monthly and ship them as soon as they arrive.

Our goal is for most awards to be shipped within 10–12 weeks after event completion.
