Carry It Forward
The "Carry it Forward" program - sponsored by Beyond the Ruck - is completely free to military leaders. The goal is not simply to get Soldiers out rucking, but to give leaders an easy way to combine physical training with leadership development, military history, and meaningful discussion.
Monthly Rucks
Below you will find your individual ruck packets organized by month. Each Packets includes a Leadership Guide & Soldier Worksheet:
Leader Guide - The ready-to-use guide featuring a historic Soldier, their story, leadership lessons, discussion questions, and guidance for conducting the ruck. You don't need to build a lesson plan, research the history, create handouts, or design certificates. We give you everything you need. All you need to do is gather the Soldiers, conduct the ruck, lead the discussion, and recognize completion.
Printable "Carry It Forward" Worksheet - Each participating soldier will answer several questions and write down what they want to carry forward from the lesson. The card is theirs to keep as a reminder the lesson and their own commitment.
Printable Completion Certificates - Once a ruck is complete, you fill out a request form and receive a digital copy of that month's certificate.

SGT ALVIN C. YORK
"WHEN THE PLAN FALLS APART, LEAD"
On October 8, 1918, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France, Corporal Alvin C. York was serving with Company G, 328th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Division. York and other Soldiers maneuvered against German machine-gun positions that had stopped the American advance. During the fighting, American leaders and Soldiers became casualties. York suddenly found himself responsible for continuing the fight with only seven other Soldiers. He had not started the mission as the senior leader. Circumstances made him one.
