Tell us about you:
I’m 35 and I’m an HH60 pilot for the medevac company here at Fort Bliss. Married with 3 kids and 3 dogs. I’ve been in the army going on 16 years with 3 combat deployments and it’s been a wild adventure. I’ve was armament for Kiowa then for Apaches. I’ve door gunned for chinook’s, became a logistician went to drill sergeant school then became a pilot. I have a technical degree in automotive technology and sheet metal fabrication. I’m a big battlefield 5/6 player and I love motorcycles. I’m glad to have met Justin and help grow this group into what it has become and looking forward to meeting y'all out there!
Where are you from?
Was born and raised in southern California (but I don't claim that state anymore) I claim North Carolina.
How did you get into rucking?
My son and I did a bunch of 5k's when we were at JBLM and I did a couple of rucks during Covid (Diekirch and NFM) but then I didn't get back into doing it till I was in Germany and did the Flyver. then I found Justin and Ruckingtough on TikTok and found out about the Czech marches and now (like Pokemon) I gotta collect them all
Why do you ruck?
I ruck because A. it helps keep me in shape, B. it's nice to put on some tunes or a podcast and just clear my mind, and C. getting the medals gives me a constant goal to keep going.
Favorite ruck so far?
I would say the Czech Death march. As much as it killed my body to do it, I pushed myself mentally and physically and was able to complete the SEW's 117 km.
What is your advice for new ruckers?
Find a good pair of boots. Foot care is important and it starts with what you're strapping to feet.
What event are you training for next?
I'd say the big one is the Finnish 4 day march in may. But I also have 4-5 rucks in May I'm doing including the NROF march.
Fun fact about you outside of rucking:
I am a BIG motorcyclist. I am currently the company mentor but I've held the spot all the way up to an ESC level (1 star). I just finished the New Mexico BDR which is a 1200 mile back country route throughout NM.
