How did you get into rucking?
The military got me into rucking, especially with being a 11B/11C.
Why do you ruck?
Mental Toughness, physical fitness, an excuse to be outdoors, sense of peace, and to be the best Honor Guardsman for the veterans and Family I Honor.
Favorite ruck so far?
Favorite ruck: RESUL w/ my four year old
Hardest: Norwegian Ruck in UAE and the Czech Statehood I did with Logan. The badlands were horrible but beautiful.
What is the hardest lesson you've learned on a ruck?
-Don’t be soft—this won’t last forever.
-If it were easy, everyone would do it. They don’t… so step up and be the one who does.
-Stay present. That’s where the real work—and the real reward—happens.
-Don’t let time rush you past the moment—there’s power in being fully present.
What is your go-to ruck setup?
(Pack, weight, boots/shoes)
-Standard issue Army Ruck
-45-60lbs
-DANER Desert boots
What is your advice for new ruckers?
-Start easy, but don’t stay there.
Every week, push it: faster, heavier, longer.
-Get comfortable with the pain… then learn to enjoy it.
-You’re doing what most people can’t, and that’s the point.
What is the next event you are training for?
All of the events. Training never stops!
Fun fact about you outside of rucking:
I have an amazing wife, a 4 year old boy, and a 7 week old boy. I've had the ability to honor over 260+ veterans in the state of Wyoming.
