Arthur Eschenburg & Daughter

resting on a ruckrucking with family

Where are you from?

Jacksonville, Arkansas

How did you get into rucking?

In 2020 I did the Marche Internationale de Diekirch as a challenge for my military career.

Why do you ruck?

A little bit of everything, mental toughness while building some physical toughness and the mindset of pushing through.

Favorite ruck so far?

We have only done the Austerlitz on the Arkansas River Trail.

What has been the hardest lesson you’ve learned under a ruck?

Use the bathroom when you get the chance, the next time it's going to have an issue.

What is your go-to ruck setup?

We use SOG backpacks with a 35 lb. weight from Yes4All( Amazon). My daughter just puts on whatever she wants, I typically wear 5.11 pants and Merrill hiking boots for comfort and durability

What is your advice for new ruckers?

Prepare ahead of time for blisters, take care of your feet before.

What event are you training for next?

The Czech Military Death March

Fun fact about you outside of rucking:

Our entire family are members of one of the two youth hockey teams in the entire state.
