Ruck Hack: Write Things Down
Share
Keep a simple note on your phone to update after every ruck. It only takes a minute, but you'll be surprised how quickly it becomes your most valuable piece of rucking knowledge. Every trail, event, and training session teaches you something. Don't let those lessons disappear by the next weekend.
After each ruck, jot down a few quick notes:
-
Which socks worked best?
-
Did you pack too much or too little water?
-
What snacks did you actually eat?
-
Did any gear rub or cause hot spots?
-
What do you wish you had packed?
-
What would you do differently next time?
Over time, you'll build a personalized rucking guide that's far more useful than any generic packing list. No two ruckers are the same, and the best way to improve is to learn from your own experiences. Small adjustments from one ruck to the next add up to a more comfortable, more enjoyable, and more successful time on the trail. Stay rucking tough out there!
