Ruck Hack: Talk Test

Use the "Talk Test" to find your ideal pace. It's easy to get caught up trying to keep up with the fastest person in the group, but a pace that's too aggressive early on can leave you exhausted long before the finish.

A simple way to gauge your effort is to pay attention to your breathing. If you can comfortably carry on a conversation in full sentences, you're probably moving at a pace you can maintain for the long haul. If you're only able to get out a few words between breaths, it may be time to slow down a bit.

Remember, the goal isn't to start fast, but to finish strong. A steady, sustainable pace almost always beats a fast start followed by a difficult final few miles.

Stay rucking tough!
