The Military Death March is a flexible distance challenge allowing participants worldwide to complete remotely and still earn the official medal and certificate.
Distances
SYMBOLIC – 12 km
Purpose (Translated from Czech)
The extreme long-distance MILITARY DEATH MARCH does not aim to celebrate death. It honors the innocent women and girls who died in the 1945 Death March. By participating in this ruck, you will financially contribute to the restoration of the volary cemetery graves, where the victims of the 1945 death march are buried, and to other projects.
Medal
Front side:
In the center is a skull and crossbones symbol – it symbolizes death, thus symbolizing the name of the march MILITARY DEATH MARCH. The barbed wire is intended to draw attention to the innocent women and girls who had to die in terrible conditions.
Back side:
In the middle is a portrait of Mrs. Jaroslava Krejsová. Mrs. Jaroslava Krejsová is not a victim of the death march she is a collector of stories from this time. In her archive you will find hundreds of stories of victims of the death march. She spoke personally with many women (direct participants) and has been engaged in this admirable activity since her youth. She is the author of "Death Passed Through Volary". By placing Mrs. Jaroslava Krejsová on the reverse side of the SYMBOLIC category medal, we would like to express our respect and thank this person for everything she has accomplished and how she has contributed to ensuring that the fates of individual women are not forgotten.
Ribbon:
Yellow color - symbolizes hope, warmth, faith to survive
Green color - symbolizes life, rebirth
Black color - symbolizes death
A Czech lion - a symbol of Bohemia

Ruck registrations are refundable for 24 hours after registration closes. After this window, registrations become final and non-refundable because we begin the required process of submitting participant information to the Czech or Austrian Military Associations for production scheduling.
Once your name is submitted for production and verification, these organizations do not offer refunds, and neither can we.

When Will My Award Ship
All Czech and Austrian awards are handmade and verified overseas. Once the event window closes and your ruck submission is confirmed, your medal set enters production with the appropriate foreign military association. We pick up completed awards monthly and ship them as soon as they arrive.
Our goal is for most awards to be shipped within 4–8 weeks after event completion.
